RusVinyl LLC has decided on the general contractor for construction of the polyvinyl chloride plant in the Nizhniy Novgorod region, says press-centre company.
It will be OJSC «Globalstroy-Engineering», one of the largest Russian companies, providing engineering, procurement and construction services to the oil and gas industry in Russia and the CIS.
According to Jean-Louis Plumecocq, RusVinyl CEO, the Company has opted for «Globalstroy-Engineering» basing on its successful multi-year experience of work in this field in accordance with requirements of international HSE standards.
The construction of the PVC plant is being carried out in conformity with the schedule. The first stage of 330 kilotons of PVC and 235 kilotons of caustic soda per year will be commissioned in 2013. By 2016 it is expected to extend the plant capacities up to 500 kt/y of PVC.
The founders of the joint venture company are SIBUR, a first-rate petrochemical holding company in Russia, and the Belgian company SolVin, a leading PVC manufacturer in Europe. SolVin is a joint affiliated company of Solvay, an international group of chemical and pharmaceutical companies, and the German concern BASF.
