According to European Plastics News, russian PVC pipe producer Adelant-Group is expanding its capacity after agreeing to acquire the manufacturing assets of the Moscow-based pipe maker Polymers 21st Century.
Under the deal, Adelant-Group, which has a pipe systems manufacturing plant in Tyumen, Russia, will receive production equipment including five Cincinnati Milacron extruders and four injection moulding machines supplied by Engel and Cincinnati Milacron.
The additional capacity will complement Adelant-Group’s existing operation, helping it to develop further and to meet the firm’s growth strategy. This calls for Adelant to expand both its production and product portfolio, according to the company’s chief executive Andrey Bondarenko.
This month, Adelant-Group is due to launch products including several types of PVC pressure pipe, internal and external PVC sewage pipes and tubing for electrical wiring. Last year, the extruder began producing NPVC pipe.
In addition, the company extended its market for PVC-U pipes opening up new export business in neighbouring Kazakhstan. It is appointing two agents in the country this year. From the end of 2011, Moscow-based Adelant-Group started exporting PVC-C pipe into other CIS nations including Belarus and the Ukraine.
Formed in January, 2007, Adelant-Group became the first Russian firm to produce PVC-C (chlorinated PVC) pipe for water supply systems, heating industrial applications and fire sprinkler systems. It signed a licence agreement with Lubrizol Advanced Materials to turn out Lubrizol’s trademark ‘FlowGuardGold’ and ‘Corzan’ products.
Its initial production line from Krauss Maffei to produce 16 – 50 mm diameter pipes was installed in December 2007 while a second line to make pipes from 63 – 110 mm sizes was launched in the winter of 2008.
